Fabiano Spessi's Milan, makes us think, he appeared to be a magnus composer, at the Spoon River by Edgar Lee Masters: in this are the dead to tell, to talk about a lived and accomplished life, to explicitly draw a morale; In the work of Spessi, instead of being told, the living, trained in the present with their anguish, their frustrations, their little small projects and the morale to be drawn is often left to the reader. So, exemplifying, there is the young man who dreams the two-room apartment just outside the office and that he waits for the job interview to make himselfie in front of the craving home: “Il futuro ti sorride / anche se / ne hai solo / un’immagine / sullo smartphone.” (Selfie); c’è il guidatore d’uno scuolabus che pensa “che in America / la sua esistenza sarebbe diversa / e che anche gli ingorghi / avrebbero un sapore diverso / ma la sua vita / si gioca qui / in questa città” (Scuolabus); or the missing athlete, although gifted with talent, who has an asphaltist job to whom, “a furia di straordinari”, “hanno divelto / il sorriso dalla faccia.” (Talento da vendere);there is still a part time salesperson separated by a wife who only sees her daughter two Sundays a month “la libertà di cui gode / sembra un’ordinanza restrittiva a vita.” (Ordinanza restrittiva); and there is the bare owner who does not know if he can rejoice that the old usufructuary does not appear for a few days in the bar where he usually went to lunch while in the bar “gestito dalla famiglia cinese / che lo aveva quasi adottato / c’è un gran vociare di clienti / che ne ricordano / i vezzi i vizi / le abitudini e le manie” (Nuda proprietà). Sometimes, in the various characters, the anxious, unconscious happiness of anxiety, which is repressed by the precariousness of life and society of consumption: “La luce stonata del bar / e le voci scomposte dei clienti / le misero addosso / una malinconia / che non accennava / ad andarsene.

But among the characters, surprisingly, the poet who, as his observer dress, is also blundered by one with the sorrowful and desolate humanity he describes, until he finds in the spectacle of nature a state of grace: “La luna piena / sul campo di calcio / è di una bellezza commovente.
