The collection, La somma imperfetta delle parti (The imperfect sum of the parts), is a real call to humility in the face of today's prodigious achievements in science, technology and communication. In a contemporary key, Airaghi takes up some traits of early Decadentism, which arose from a distrust of reason as an instrument for investigating reality. According to the poet, in fact, not only was the intellect no longer considered capable of grasping the noumenon, the thing-in-itself, but it was also considered responsible for producing the illusion of knowledge, with the consequence of distracting from the search for a deeper truth and making us content with appearances. Beyond conceptual schemes lies the mystery of life that no rational scheme can frame.
