Celo Pietro

Son of deaf parents, he graduated in Modern Literature in 1993 at the University of Milan with a degree thesis in Experimental Pedagogy entitled: Pragmatic aspects of the interrogation in the Italian Sign Language.

From 2004 to 2012 he is a contract professor of Language of Signs, History and Culture of the Deaf and Integrative Teaching at the Department of Language Sciences of the Ca 'Foscari University of Venice and from 2005 to the Bicocca University of Milan.

Teacher of Letters at the "Cadorna" Secondary Secondary School of the "Rina Monti Stella" in Pallanza in Verbania, he is a designer and trainer in courses for Lingua dei Segni interpreters, among which the one organized by the Professional University School of Italian Switzerland (SUPSI) and that of the Milan OPPI Association.

Currently a contract professor of Italian Sign Language in the School of Languages ​​and Literature, Translation and Interpretation of Forlì, University of Bologna.

He was National President of the Italian Sign Language Interpreters Association ANIOS. From 1994 to 2016 he was a consultant for the LIS interpreting group for the Bilingualism Project of the Cossato Comprehensive Institute.

In 2001 he published for the Editor Kappa of Rome The master of the signs, parody on the education of the deaf in the nineteenth century and, in 2009, for the publisher Cafoscarina in Venice The signs of the '900, collection of Italian poetry translated into language of the Signs from the students of the advanced course of interpretation of the University. In 2009 with Valeria Buonomo he gave the press The Italian Sign Language interpreter, Hoepli, Milan.

PhD in Education and Communication Sciences at the Bicocca University of Milan with a thesis on the relationship between deafness, writing and translation. Recently he focused on the reading and writing of deaf children signing and has published with Nicole Vian the trilogy Guanti Rossi 1, 2 and Readings for Ancora Editore Milano in 2014, the small volume The zoo by Andrea and the French version for Burkina Faso by Gants Rouges. In 2015 he published the book The signs of translation for Aracne Editore di Roma, the first book on LIS-Italian translation. In 2017 he gave Segnati this recipe, a bilingual Italian-Lingua dei Segni recipe book, also for Aracne, Rome.

Currently employed at the SGB-FSS "Swiss Federation of the Deaf" in Lugano and teacher of Italian Sign Language at the Civic School A. Spinelli interpreters and translators of Milan.
