Villalta Gian Mario

GIAN MARIO VILLALTA has contributed to the study of Andrea Zanzotto's works (he edited Andrea Zanzotto, Scritti sulla letteratura, Mondadori 2001 and, with Stefano Dal Bianco, the Meridiano Mondadori Le poesie e prose scelte, 1999). He wrote the essays Il respiro e lo sguardo, Rizzoli 2005 and La poesia, ancora?, Mimesis 2021. He won the 2011 Viareggio Prize with the verse work Vanità della mente and the 2016 Carducci Prize with the collection Telepatia. In 2020 he was nominated for the Strega Prize with the novel L'apprendista. He is the artistic director of pordenonelegge.
