This short novel reconstructs from the third grade the story of two characters, Fabio and Diego. The first part, Fisiocenter, is devoted to the former; the second, Speculare, to the latter, within a symmetry that outlines their different temperaments through similar scenes, dialogues and situations. Divided by the events of life, they meet again in the third part, in the period of the Afro-discs. Alberti Pasina stands out in the panorama of Italian fiction for his minimalist style, which does not indulge in metaphors, but anchors itself tenaciously to reality through a colloquial lexicon that has a great impact on the reader. One could also speak of a sort of personal cut-up, used to render more incisive the specularity of the two protagonists and, at the same time, the diversity of their reactions to existential dynamics.
