There is a cave under the church of San Martino di Bolzano Novarese: a town of about a thousand souls on the eastern shore of Lake Orta. A cave that in the past lavished gold and now serves as a time machine. It is from this gut that one can really start from the present, to re-emerge in the past. A past of almost ten centuries, in the long series of reminiscences that connects two countries: Ingravo yesterday, today Bolzano. The journey is those tough, where you put a strain on body and soul, but that can not be avoided if you really want to know the fate of a village: Ingravo, of that village mysteriously disappeared for a millennium. But why investigate memories now buried? Why look for what has already died and been buried for an eternity? Why tease and torment uselessly things that it would be better not to annoy? The answer is simple: because there is no future if there is no memory of the past. And the cave in Zuregnano is then ready, it is there waiting, there that silent then embraces you with its plush darkness and drags you distant in time and space, at the other end of the rope, where you emerge in a reality that he thought he was lost now, and where hearts that are far from defunct beat: shadows without a face, perhaps, but alive, of such an impulse and so impregnated with emotions that they know how to cancel any other dimension that seems more concrete. And it is with this new push that we finally return from the journey - or at least hopefully we can return - to continue the journey of life.
