After following her husband Pontius Pilate to Judea, Claudia learns of the existence of Jesus of Nazareth, a mysterious rabbi, who reminds her of the philosopher Socrates who was condemned to death by the court in Athens for blasphemy. One night she dreams of the martyrdom of a Jew tried and condemned to death by her husband. She wonders who the Jew who contacted her in her dream might be. She dreams of him again and discovers his identity. Who is this Jew if not the Messiah Jesus? She, a pagan and aristocratic Roman woman, as soon as she sees him, takes courage and begs her husband to spare him, but he does not listen to her and kills him. Claudia is changed by her encounter with the Messiah, thanks to whom she not only discovered the Truth she was looking for, but also the real reason why he was condemned to death, which she tried to escape not out of compassion, but out of love.
