"[... ] I have tried to learn to speak / a non-human language, the language / of Earth and Air, / of Fractals and Waves, / all my life / I have been listening", writes Gabriella Mongardi in one of the texts contained in this new collection of poems, Inventario in metrica, and it is precisely the ability to listen that stands out as the fil rouge in the plot that underlies and holds together all the five sections of the work, in the constant alternation of music and pauses, words and silences, moving from the analysis of the most intimate self in the direction of an opening up to the world in its complexity of human presences and surprising natural elements (from Silvia Rosa's preface).
