The construction of the text fascinates in the reading of "The hermitage and the hermit": the Author weaves the plot by combining pure lyric and narrative, micro-stories in epistolary references in which the narrative self sometimes explodes in its drama, elsewhere hides itself or filter in another.
   The need to link micro-stories and indefinite horizons emerges: Gusmeroli often tries to anchor himself to a historical and mythical reality, using, sometimes in an exaggerated and never out of place way, the anxiety and taste of the particular, the etymological reconstruction. of terms, the descriptive tension of environments and states, almost as he himself belonged in an ambivalent way to a world made of reality and, at the same time, he aspired to abstraction, to the dissolution in the spirit until disappearing, to give himself in a pure form of thought, religiously present in itself and yet tend to be outside of itself.
   The result is the idea of ​​a full but dormant light, sometimes disruptive, always in progress and in line with the frequent lyrical tears and quotations of texts (Ivan Fedeli).
