In this collection by Vittorio Di Ruocco, the basic opposition of civil poetry/lyric poetry is translated into the synallagmatic dualism of concrete representation/abstract lyricism, sentiment/rhetoric, colloquial register/high register, the latter characterised by the adoption of certain stylistic features of hermetic derivation (concrete with abstract determination, e.g. the 'cavern of oblivion'). The very concept of 'dance', present in the title, confirms this hypothesis in the alternation of the tapping and the rising of the feet. (from the preface by Giulio Greco)
The text was published after winning the First Prize "Sec. A Poetry free theme" in the I.P.LA.C. Competition "Voices - City of Rome" 2022 edition.
