Roberta Ioli (1968),After taking a degree in classical literature and philosophy at the University of Bologna, she completed her training in Cambridge (M Phil. in Ancient Philosophy) and Rome (Dottorato in Filosofia all’Università di Tor Vergata).
Teacher and literary translator from the publisher Dedalus,she focused her interest on pre-Socratic philosophy,of ancient skepticism and its reception in modern times,the sophisticated and Gorgias in particular. For Olms publishing house has published in 2010 an edition of the greek text,translated and commented o nthe Treaty of Gorgia Su ciò che non è. It also dealt with the ancient theater, publishing for Edizioni della Stoà a monograph entitled Vocem devorat dolor. Ecuba e la voce del lamento.
Currently working on a collection of testimonies and fragments relating to Gorgias, forthcoming in Collana dei Classici of Editore Carocci.
