Masina Ettore

Ettore Masina was born in Breno Valcamonica in 1928. After living in various cities (Benghazi, Varese, Brescia, Milan), in 1964 he moved to Rome, where he still lives. Married to Clotilde Buraggi, has three children and six grandchildren. It has long been sent to the newspaper "The Day" and then of TG2. After following Pope Montini's historic trip to the Holy Land, shocked by the deep poverty in which he lived much of the Palestinian population, and encouraged by the French priest Paul Gauthier, in 1964 he founded with Clotilde, then coordinating it for thirty years, an association of international solidarity, the Network Radiè Resch (from the name of a little girl of Arab Nazareth, died of pneumonia in a hovel), still present in 32 Italian centers and active in Palestine, Brazil, Haiti, Argentina and Central Africa.
From 1983 to 1992 he was a Member of Parliament, representing the group of Independent Left in the House Foreign Affairs Committee. During his second term parliamentary groups have unanimously chosen as president of the Committee for Human Rights. His political commitment, strong imprint Third World, has explicate in numerous diplomatic missions and humanitarian initiatives. In particular, he led Italian delegations to visit Palestinian refugee camps and several African countries, and has exercised the role of international observers to guarantee the Chilean elections of 1989. He was also president of the Italy-Vietnam and the Association Italy- South Africa.
He has published two collections of poems (Pilgrimage secular, Fabbri, 1973; The reason and the angels, Borla, 1979), religious scholars (The Gospel According to the anonymous, Citadel, 1972; The God knees, Rusconi, 1982; The caliph us sends word, Rusconi, 1983), travel books (El nido de oro. journey into the Third World: Brazil, the Horn of Africa and Nicaragua, Edward Arnold, 1989; a winter in the South: Chile, Vietnam, South Africa, Palestine, Edward Arnold, 1992), novels (the iron and honey, Rusconi, 1983 Premio Città di Penne; the flight of the sparrow, San Paolo, 1997 Superpremio City of Bari; the Winning, San Paolo, 2002 Prize finalist Viareggio; Buy a saint, OGE, 2006), two books of short stories (gulls Fringen, St. Paul, 1999 Prize finalist Elba; our boats are round, OGE, 2008 Award Suio Terme). Also gave prints three autobiographical volumes (Diary of a Catholic errant, Shrimp, 1997. The prevailing past Rubbettino, 2000; Heron Orbetello, Rubbettino, 2005). Considers his most important work the biography of Archbishop Oscar Arnulfo Romero (The Archbishop must die, Issues Culture of Peace, 1993; new edition, Gross, 2011).
In 1998 he was awarded from the Archives Disarmament press award "Golden Dove for peace."
