Rovello Carlo

Carlo Rovello was born in Savona in 1976. He describes himself as a ‘listener’ to poetry, a man of the Po Valley slopes of Liguria, and a ‘cycling poet’.

In 2008, together with Giovanni Straniero, he published *Cantacronache: 50 Years of the Rebel Song*, a book celebrating the cultural and musical movement that emerged in Turin in the late 1950s.

After a decade spent breeding alpacas and llamas, he recorded his reflections in a diary entitled *I giorni dell’alpaca* (The Days of the Alpaca), published by Delfino & Enrile in 2016.

In 2018, he gave concrete expression to his passion for poetry – a passion he had nurtured since his teenage years – with the collection *L’enorme haiku* (The Enormous Haiku), characterised by a tight verbal tension. This was followed by further collections influenced by the Ligurian landscape and echoes of Montale, characterised by writing that conjures direct and vivid images: *Le canzoni dell’oblio* and *La stagione nuova* (CTL editore, Livorno). *I giorni senza ore*, an ode to inner time, was published in 2023 by Calibano in Novate Milanese. In 2025, again through Calibano, a collection of short stories entitled *Echi di paese* was published, reconstructing an emotional and social fabric linked to his origins. In the same year, the poetry collection *Sul punto di vivere* was published by LFA Publisher.
