Lia Sturua, born May 15, 1939 in Tbilisi, graduated from the State University of Tbilisi, Faculty of Philology (1962).
In 1974 she supported the thesis for the scientific title of science candidate on the theme: Artistic function of color in the poem of Galaktion Tabidze. She taught in the same university.
She worked at the Georgian Literature Institute "Shota Rustaveli" (1981-2006).
She is currently a consultant to the Galaktion Tabidze museum house.
In 1965 she published the first book of poems The trees in the city. In all, she has published seventeen poetic collections.
In addition, she is the author of the novel The Rock Fallen in Milk.
She is the holder of the State Award, the "Galaktion Tabidze", the "Shota Rustaveli" prize and the "Saba" prize.
