A novel about the inevitability of catastrophe
published in Literary n.10/2016
The friction between East and West, from the exploitation of the counterculture, embodied by the body art of Katellenas, pacifism and anti-militarism, the impotence of those who govern (the merciless portrait of US President Wu) make highly topical affair.
In a world torn apart by famine and war, culminating in the explosion of a hydrogen bomb in Hawaii, the only hope seems to be represented by the love between Mark and Sophie, and Huang Kuei Fei.
Mark will be right in his speech to announce the need for a knowledge "of the heart and soul" that involves the rejection of knowledge established, in charge of the bad choices that have been inspired by earlier human actions.
As a prophecy, the book warns about how our society is heading now towards a dangerous path, landlocked and is appreciated despite the sometimes cryptic poetic language which brings up the more complex narrative than it really is.
The quote:
"In the silence that succeeded to wear a time, if ever possible, even shorter, a breath of wind changed the intensity of a warm breeze vellicasse the air of the coast, from north to south, to the immense barrage of angry heat in whose deadly breath every living and every inanimate object that they were within a hundred miles around were crumbling. The sand of all the beaches in Waikiki Makaha was transformed into a glass and a few hours later, at sunrise, the dawn will mirror its colors from pink hyacinth them unique silent witnesses ".
