Liliana Zinetti "I Cipressi di Van Gogh"

Nello scaffale
by Luigia Sorrentino

Have you ever seen by the cypress trees near the Van Gogh? Transmit energy very strong, which lifts off the ground.
In February of 2011, in the exhibition at the Vittoriano in Rome, where they were exposed to some of his most famous works, there were also the cypress trees. The strength of those soaring peaks remained etched in my eyes, and left an indelible mark.

Liliana Zinetti with Cypresses Van Gogh (Giuliano Ladolfi Publisher 2011) adds an important element to his poetic work. The book is divided into two sections with different texts of the second part forming a speech on family affections. Alberto Bertoni writes in the preface: "... a long and fruitful process of apprenticeship, which brings you to the author in a complete synthesis of linguistic diversity, competent historical memory, figural effectiveness, successful prosodic rhythmic balance." (Page 5)
You hear this in the excavation and at the same time the stop at that light which is on the world, to grasp the meaning of places, people and things. In particular the poems for his father touches intimately, with a rare sense of restitution. Zinetti disseminates the book of profound reasons with a rigor and ethics that include staff without stopping at that, and certainly today are not in fashion. The author shows that he still believed in a poetic word with which he can impress some sort of justice for all, which does not give Zinetti.

***

Credeva con le parole
di tenere gli alberi fermi
nella bufera, il paesaggio senza crolli
non sapendo
che solo la perdita si lascia afferrare.
Rispondeva all’appello delle cose
con uno sguardo lontano, oltrepassandole
fino al silenzio. Un silenzio scabro, sottile,
senza pensiero, come un pianto
o un sonno invincibile.
