The value of this collection must be identified in a dry, "concrete" and engaging style. Extraneous to every lyrical facet, the poet goes into capital issues with "dry eyes", to use the expression of Sbarbaro, with a disenchantment that does not allow any consolation, with a tragic lucidity that leaves no way out. "The years pile up in the pits / cans and lopsided car wheels". Poetry lies in reality, not in words ... The eye is merciless, does not accept easy consolations: "The latrines of the stations, / depositors of a bitter gnosis". The metaphor loses any abstract connotation to "incessarsi" in precise situations, clear, defined, drawn from everyday experience, common to our society.
