The gateway to the world of Maurizio Soldini is a survey on the new star of our everyday space: the mall. The poem recalls the classic genre of poetry odeporica, which, starting from the concrete situation of a journey, offers reflections, meditations on themselves and their time, and so become the real experience of the soul. Now the contemporary urban landscape is dominated by the shopping center, «scatolone / dove il tempo è scandito / da quel televisore / che annuncia le occasioni di giornata» (VIII). Soldini our reconstructs a typical day, that unfolds between two poles, the Ithaca of each of us and the mall. In this journey three paradigms are the heroes faced by the author: Marcovaldo, Astolfo, Ulisse. But the ultimate hero we cling remains Ulysses, the perennial paradigm of humanity, the seeker of meaning in the sea of nonsense. And the only salvation, as was the metis for Ulysses, is the way of art and love.

The size of the work poematica Soldini itself as an outlet and dish at the same time: outburst against the current reality, against the depersonalization of the landscape, reduced to a succession of boxes-directed; parable for the reconquest of threatened but not yet lost, humanity.
