What exile are we talking about? In what place? And who is Sofia-Sophia? And where else where our author would dream of being with her?

"For poetry, exile is not a theme, and often it is not even a condition of the poet, it is the link between existence and language, it is what leads the distance to become a word, the separation of rhythm, the choice of what beyond desire for closeness »(Antonio Prete).

I believe that these statements are perfectly suited to writing verses by Giorgio Anelli in which finding oneself, getting lost and finding oneself sway between realizing the everyday life in which he lives, the temporary nature of certain agreements, the ease with which a love can be lost, an ideal, an image, when existential contingencies bite your calves and you find yourself wandering, in a world that no longer fits with your desire and your ambition to sublime: «And yet, most of all / I am looking for a vision / / Intimate friend, eternal enchanting temptation ... »(from the preface by Gian Ruggero Manzoni).
