In Fiorentino's verses, love observes itself, investigates itself, tries to judge itself from the outside, as if it were a third party, capable of Solomonic wisdom. The author's legal studies led her spontaneously to conceive a syllogue in which the voices of the two lovers alternate, contrast and overlap as in a debate, or in an embrace of passion. Each exposes their own reasons and absences of reason, the love madness, erotic at times, always and in each case inspired and nourished by their own specific dreams, individual projects, worldviews and ways of perceiving (from the Preface by Ivano Mugnaini).
