On the Sands of the World is a book of poems that invites us to enjoy, with awe and gratitude, with a lucid and joyful intelligence, the life we have been given. It accurately describes everything we feel in inhabiting the world and its secrets.
There is nothing feigned in these verses, nothing that arises from empty feeling or begrudgingly drawn, everything in them is elegance and rhythm and embrace that embraces us in a generous and worthwhile way. There is someone who has weighed his heart and discovered where the essentials are that gave rise to his winged matter.
Oreste Donadío's poetry is born of the eye and the ear, and possesses that serene beauty that does not ignore the horror that clouds our existence (Juan Felipe Robledo).
Oreste Donadío (Medellín, Colombia, 1965) is a painter, poet and master painter at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts in 1992.
He has published the books: Los invisibles pájaros del alma (Sílaba Editores, Medellín, 2010, with which he was awarded the Creation Scholarship in Poetry, granted to him by the Municipality of Medellín in 2009), En las arenas del mundo (Sílaba Editores, Medellín, 2012, City of Bogota National Poetry Prize, 2011), La lumbre inmóvil (Sílaba Editores, Medellín, 2016) and Jardinero de sombras (Sílaba Editores, Medellín, 2021).
