But back to "My Body". The text already very evocative entitled involving the reader from the very first lines surprising us with two beautiful poems that form the preface to the novel that begins:
"Maria has a passion for shoes. A craze or rather obsession, those innocuous. It is the instinct that leads regularly in a few stores to refresh his shoe. In the house that was yours, what is mobile bulkier. It climbs on the entire front wall near the entrance, a burgundy leather sofa. Lacquered glossy, smooth as glass. Saffron ... "
THE PLOT: There is a character, Maria, who breaks in the opening of the novel. It's weird. Ago shoe collection. It goes around barefoot. Disappears. At least so it seems. Because history gives way to another person, Laura, that after thirty years of marriage with Alberto, a comfortable life, enviable, remains alone. Mourning abandonment overwhelms with a devastating charge, paralyzing his mind and his body, which entrusts the task of witnessing stages of despair, until unexpectedly, suddenly, comes the turn. Upon returning from a trip to Paris, where it touches the peak of loss of self, but also the lure of a lift, Laura receives the news of the death of Albert. Imponderable something happens inside her and something even more detonating happens in front of her. In his life, he comes with poignant tenderness and a young impetuous determination. Awkward, original, elusive, in the ambiguity of an identity not yet revealed the delivery of the legacy of a long-guarded secret. Who is that person that Laura insists on calling "your boyfriend", turning into an imaginary dialogue with her husband absent? Why, even wishing it, he can not get rid of it? Around these questions will pick up the threads of the story full of references, of outbursts of open parentheses that are in the course of the pages unexpected solutions and unexpected epiphanies. Aided by a writing elegant, carved in the flesh, able to investigate the feeling of skepticism in a breath blowing over the boundaries of relationships between couples, in the worlds most uncomfortable and authentic "dark evil", variations of motherhood, the affirmation of gender identity.
