It is undeniable that today poetry is the most tenacious strength of resistance to capitalism that evaluates reality only on the basis of economic value. Even though it does not appear, even if it is not read, even though it is not studied, poetry is practiced by millions who entrust it with the secrets of its existence and this operation is "therapy" and comfort. If life was limited to a computation of possessions, the rich would be happy and the unhappy poor, and when the threshold of indigence is exceeded, we realize the opposite. As sociologist Zygmunt Bauman argues, the ideal consumer is the one who is "dissatisfied," who always needs other material goods in an endless spiral through short moments of satisfaction, immediately followed by anxieties and research.
For these reasons, the collection of Roberto Mosi must be interpreted as a true hymn to poetry, its value and the perpetuity of its function in the history of human race.
