Over the past four decades the West is marked by a fertility rate well below the "threshold of substitution" - 2.1 children per woman on average - which guarantees the replacement of generations and balance not only quantitative, but also the quality of the population. The EU average rate is currently set around 1.5 children per woman.

Many scientists and intellectuals, stuffed more or less consciously neo-Malthusian faith, are arguing that such a weakening of births in the West should, indeed, be considered as a resource, because the small number of children, and the population would be a guarantee of a better environmental, economic and social for the Earth; and therefore it seems ridiculous, if not insane, claiming that always the people with stable family institutions, are numerous and cohesive pattern of success and prosperity for the whole society.

Also, if you talk about "European identity disappearance", it has run accused, as well as those who are doing their utmost in the animal field for the defense of biodiversity, cultural racism, as if to preserve the identity of a people, as learned in the course of countless historical, human, cultural, religious, political and economic, that meant reject in toto what is found in other cultures.
